A cheeky image doing the rounds on twitter could help customers avoid unnecessary insurance claims.
The picture of a pair of pants comes with three important lessons we can draw from our drawers to protect passwords on bank accounts and other sensitive information.

Just like knickers, customers are reminded to change their passwords regularly, never leave them on display and under no circumstances to lend them to strangers or even friends.

So, password-scrawled post-it notes stuck to your office computer screen are out. Regular resets, on the contrary, are definitely in.

Struggling to think of something memorable and secure? Try the five simple tips below:

1)     Capitalise every other letter

2)     Substitute numbers for letters, for example a 3 for an E, a 0 for an O

3)     Punctuation also makes a canny swap - an ! for an i perhaps?

4)     Add a memorable date to it

5)     Do all of the above - and then spell it backwards for good measure

Remember, although comprehensive insurance can cover some hacks and theft, prevention is always better than cure.
