Employers Look to Stress Management to Cut Absence

Looking after employees’ mental health is being increasingly prioritised in the workplace, a new survey has found.
It comes as a growing number of bosses (45%) are linking stress to long-term absence.

A quarter of those questioned by Group Risk Development (GRiD) also attributed mental health issues to short-term sickness periods too.

In a bid to tackle absenteeism, many managers are now placing stress management at the top of their health and wellbeing in the workplace strategies, with 25% prioritising a healthier work/life balance.

Early intervention to support staff suffering mental health issues is also a focus.
